One of Northumberland’s most exclusive venues has a new man at the helm.
Mike Chambers has been appointed as general manager of Guyzance Hall.
He will lead a team of staff to ensure that every event is run to specific requirements. Duties can include arranging a personal chef to cook fish caught after a day’s sport with the local gillie, arranging a helicopter to pick up delegates from Newcastle Airport or organising the perfect country wedding.
Set in its own 350-acre estate, Guyzance Hall is a 19th century Grade II-listed residence and a highly sought after wedding and events venue. Available on an exclusive use basis, the emphasis is very much on ensuring that guests feel that they are staying at their very own country mansion.
Mike, a customer service specialist who spent 20 years with British Airways as steward in charge of first class, said: “Having come from Newcastle, but spent a lifetime travelling where the opportunities have been, I’m pleased to come back to the North East, and this new challenge at Guyzance.
“Here, the focus is on offering the very highest quality and level of customer care and I am looking forward to working with the team to ensure that every guest who stays here has a visit that meets if not exceeds their expectations.”
Mike, who lives at Newton on the Moor, joins Guyzance Hall from Northumbria Coast and Country Cottages Ltd where, for the last four years, he was deputy director. He also owned and ran a country pub in Yorkshire and has experience in the Intercontinental Hotel in London’s Park Lane.
Guyzance Hall is the sister venue to Eshott Hall, near Morpeth, and Doxford Hall, near Alnwick. Also part of the group are Dalhousie Castle and Ednam House.
