A north Northumberland businesswoman who triumphed after she was made redundant has been asked to mentor students at a North East university.
April Bowden now has more than 10 clients in her marketing firm, Playing the Field, which she started in August, 2014.
The 26-year-old has now been asked to become a business mentor at Northumbria University’s Graduate Enterprise Programme in its business school.
When April studied at the university, she was on the programme herself and says she ‘understands the process that students go through’ so will be ideal for the role.
April said: “I’m really looking forward to working with young entrepreneurs of the future. I understand the processes of setting up a business, writing a business plan and targeting a particular market so I’m looking forward to see what the students come up with.”
