Places are up for grabs for the Introduction to Commercial Fishing course, which has previously led to trainees landing jobs in the industry.
Anglo-Scottish Seafish & Seafood Training Association (ASSTA) has successfully run the sessions a number of times in Amble over the last few years.
It is hoped that the training will boost the number of new entrants coming into the industry.
Now, a number of positions are available on a first-come, first-served basis for another round of tutoring in the town in the summer.
Dennis Osborne, of ASSTA, said that the free-to-attend course offers the perfect opportunity for anyone who was thinking of going to sea as a fisherman.
He added: “Our last Introduction to Commercial Fishing course was a success with 90 per cent of the new entries securing full-time jobs in the fishing industry.
“The course, which is financed by a number of organisations, helps people who want to become a fisherman in the UK.
“Amble has all the facilities that we need to run the course and we have received the okay to run another course, starting on June 1.”
