A Northumberland-based independent travel agent is flying high after he graduated from the Travel Counsellors Academy.

As reported in the Gazette last year, Graham Parker bought a franchise from Travel Counsellors after he was made redundant from Newcastle City Council following a 33-year career in local government.

At the time, the Swarland resident was just embarking on the academy course, which involved generating £120,000 of sales in a 13-month period.

He celebrated his graduation at special event in Liverpool where he was joined by more than 500 fellow Travel Counsellors from seven countries at the largest travel company conference in the UK.

Graham said: “I had an incredible time at the conference in Liverpool. We were updated on the company’s future developments and given insightful travel advice and tips for the year ahead.

“It was a truly motivational experience with some influential speakers giving knowledgeable advice on how to succeed whilst running your own business.

“I am eager to utilise all I have learnt to benefit my customers’ needs.”

Priding himself on the highest level of personal service, Graham runs his own leisure and corporate travel business using Travel Counsellors’ award-winning technology, and is available whenever is most convenient for the customer, including during the evenings and at weekends.

“When running my own travel business it is imperative to focus on the personal side, always putting the customer first by going the extra mile to satisfy their needs,” he said.

“I am proud of the growth and success of my business over the past year and would like to thank my customers for their loyalty and support.”
