A Northumberland-based hotel group is branching out further afield.
Guyzance Hall Ltd has bought the four-star Wordsworth Hotel and Spa in the Lake District for an undisclosed sum.
The hotel, in Grasmere, is the group’s first buy in Cumbria and joins its existing portfolio of five properties – Doxford Hall, Guyzance Hall, Eshott Hall, Ednam House, Kelso, and Dalhousie Castle, near Edinburgh.
Operations director Eric Kortenbach said: “The hotel fits in perfectly with our collection of properties and has achieved many successes in recent years. We intend to invest in both the hotel and staff, and hope to encourage our guests from the north to visit Grasmere.”
The Wordsworth has two AA Rosettes for its Signature Restaurant, and has had recent refurbishment throughout its 39 bedrooms, function suites, spa and leisure facilities.
