Northumberland-based holiday agency, Stay Northumbria, has announced a 45 per cent growth in 2014 with a further 25 per cent forecast in the next 12 months.

Some of the growth, which has seen a satisfying increase in bookings, came as the company acquired Northumberland Cottages in the early part of 2014.

And between the two websites ( and the holiday company now has a choice of over 90 properties for those looking for the perfect holiday in Northumberland.

As well as increasing their portfolio the agency can now boast the USP of offering cottage owners a full service from lettings through to maintenance, cleaning, laundry and management, and can encompass property alterations and development as part of their remit.

And as the company now delivers all of this other than specialist services in-house rather than subcontracting, it has led to an increase in their team.

The latest to join the team, based in Seahouses and covering the north Northumberland coast, is Alan Herbertson whom many will already know as Herbie, another local key figure. He has looked after properties for holiday letting owners for a number of years and will now be responsible for all the maintenance requirements of the Stay Northumbria portfolio homes and their grounds.

Owner director, Jackie Forsyth said: “We are a family-run business, based in the heart of the properties we represent with an international and national customer and owner client base.

“Quality, service and customer care is at the heart at everything we do.

“To make sure that both the property owners and the holidaymakers have a first-class experience with us, we have decided to bring as many of our services as is practical, in-house with the exception of anything really specialist like gas and electricity, for which we employ local, esteemed tradespeople.”
