Spring-sowing and harvesting equipment will be on offer in Harrison and Hetherington’s first on-farm Northumberland dispersal sale of the season.

This sale of vehicles and machinery is being arranged on behalf of arable farmers John and Margaret Robertson, of East Ord and Emerick farms, as they are retiring.

Going under the hammer are more than 300 lots of well-maintained machinery and tools, including tractors, trailers, a grain-dryer, sprayer and combine harvester.

The sale, being conducted by Harrison and Hetherington’s St Boswells Auction Mart, will be held at East Ord Farm, near Berwick, tomorrow, starting at 11am.

Among the items auctioneer Frank Forrest is expecting to be most in demand are a 2012 Case Puma 165 tractor, 2008 Case Puma 155 tractor and Gem Self Trac 300-litre sprayer with flotation wheels.

He said: “There is a keen demand for quality used farm implements, and this is a tremendous field of high-calibre machinery which the Robertsons have taken much pride in regularly maintaining.”

“The sale is also well timed for the beginning of the spring cultivation season, so those purchasing can put the equipment to immediate use.”

East Ord Farm is half a mile west of Berwick and will be signposted off the A1 at the East Ord roundabout.
