There is another chance this year for 16 to 25-year-olds across the county to apply for help and support from the Northumberland Youth Enterprise Fund (NYEF).
Last year, Polly Smith, from Alnwick, applied for help and support from the NYEF to help start up her own florist business.
She received expert advice from experienced advisors and a grant of £500, which she used to pay for advertising and marketing her business.
Polly, 17, said: “The application processes helped me to visualise the direction I wanted Polly’s Petals to move in and made me think where I needed to spend the potential money.
“I was fortunate to receive a £500 grant which has helped me massively. I have since been able to complete a wedding order, design business cards and book a Christmas market stall to increase wreath sales; the whole experience has been a real eye-opener.”
Applicants are required to complete a simple application form, which has been revamped this year, and they can choose to supplement it with additional supporting information such as a business plan to give their application a boost.
The closing date for applications is Sunday, January 12, 2014.
