As temperatures in the region plummet, hundreds of homeowners could be benefiting from a free boiler and lower energy bills, thanks to Northumberland-based biomass specialists.

The free boiler initiative has been unveiled by award-winning biomass boiler installer, The Wood Heating Company, which boasts more than 30 years of biomass heritage.

The company will supply, install and maintain a biomass boiler system for the next seven years, free of charge to homeowners.

This allows customers to benefit from significant energy bill savings without having to pay the upfront cost for the boiler. After seven years the boiler is theirs to keep – with a life expectancy of 15-plus years.

The scheme, which launched on December 1, is believed to be the first of its kind in the region.
