A Thropton woman has expanded her successful online homeware and furniture business by opening a new shop in Rothbury.
Stephanie Robson unveiled Heart Made Home, at Townfoot, on Friday evening during a special Pimm’s and strawberries opening event.
She has been running the company from her house for the last two years, but felt the time was right to move into the village premises.
Heart Made Home offers rustic, traditional and vintage homeware and furniture.
The mother-of-two has made her name at shows and markets throughout the county and by taking commissions for her delicately-painted upcycled and reconditioned furniture.
Heart Made Home has an enviable reputation for the creativity and quality of Stephanie’s work and has received commissions from all over the North East.
Stephanie will be selling her hand-painted furniture alongside carefully chosen, British designed homewares.
She also stocks fabric, wool and haberdashery items and will host sewing, stitching and crafting classes in the workroom above the shop.
Stephanie said: “I love rustic and country-home living which is inspired by my family and the beautiful Northumberland countryside, creating an effortless and timeless style. The products we sell have a real sense of homeliness incorporating British designers and beautiful furniture which is made to stand the test of time.
“Most of my homeware products have been road-tested by myself and you will find dotted around my home.
“I’ve been touched by the number of local businesses, makers and crafters who have supported Heart Made Home’s first years of business and hope to be able to pay that support back by stocking goods from local makers too.”
Heart Made Home’s logo, designed by another Rothbury entrepreneur, Anna Brand, of Blue Tongue Designs, has been selected to be included in the prestigious Logo Lounge 2015 – an international, industry standard, trend report that captures the very best and most current trends in graphic design each year.
To mark the shops’s opening, visitors are encouraged to sign up to the company’s newsletter and stand a chance of winning £20-worth of instore vouchers. The initiative runs until September. Visit www.heartmadehome.com
