An Amble-based business has won two prestigious awards in the Tyneside and Northumberland heat of the NE Business Awards 2013.
And it was also nominated in a third category.
QuestUAV Ltd succeded over tough competition from much larger, established companies to win the Innovation Award and the Best Newcomer Award.
It was also a finalist in the overall Small Business of the Year award.
They now go on to the regional awards later this month.
The business’s owner Nigel King said: “To be nominated for one category is an honour, but to be nominated in three is a great achievement.
“It was a great evening, and we look to build on that success.
“Considering the company is only 18 months old, it shows the desire and determination from all the staff at QuestUAV.”
The company is a manufacturer of small, fixed-wing unmanned aircraft (UA), that are designed to carry sensors such as high-resolution cameras, infra red cameras, thermal cameras and gas analysers.
They also help provide the science to analyse the results that come back from a flight.
