The commercials lettings market is showing signs of revival in Alnwick, according to Northumberland Estates.

Latest to seek premises in the town is Newcastle-based building-materials merchant, JT Dove, which plans to open new wholesale and retail premises on the Hotspur Court industrial estate this summer.

Located on the outskirts of the town, it will be JT Dove’s 15th company and will occupy three units of around 9,000 sq foot in total with plans to create eight new jobs.

“We are delighted to have attracted a North East company with such a strong brand to the town,” said Michael O’Driscoll of the Northumberland Estates.

“JT Dove has taken a 10-year lease on the site at Hotspur Court. This demonstrates the long-term commitment they are making to the town, and we wish them every success in their new venture.”

Steve Robinson, managing director of JT Dove, added: “We have been considering Alnwick for a while. We already have a good customer base in the area, and by opening a store, we will be better able to service these customers.

“We plan to provide a collection point and delivery service for online customers too. An increasing amount of our trade starts with our website, where we provide a full price list.

“Customers can therefore source goods and check prices before ordering and will be able to collect from the store or have them delivered direct.”
