A new shop selling fabric, haberdashery and gifts opened its doors at the weekend.

Beverley Moffitt is behind Sew Canny, which launched on Saturday.

There were refreshments and free craft activities on the day to celebrate the opening.

As well as stocking a range of items, the shop, located at Widdrington Station behind the Co-op, also offers sewing classes and a monthly Sewing Bee for sewists of all abilities.

Beverley, 38, said: “I have had some really good feedback and been told that the shop is what the village needs. We are committed to supporting British makers and designers as well as local craftspeople from Northumberland and the surrounding areas and if you would like to see your products stocked in the shop, please get in touch.”
