Border Livestock, June 19

Border Livestock to week ending Friday, June 19 sold 149 Prime Cattle, 1,942 Prime Sheep, including 892 Lambs; 320 Hoggs and 730 Cast Ewes.

Prime Cattle continue to firm with most prices up 5p on the previous week. Aberdeen Angus Crosses sold to 390p per kg from Sandystones Farm, Ancrum and Hill Top East. Continental Crosses to 357p per kg for Charolais and Limousin Crosses from Eglingham Farm, Alnwick. Young Bulls, Suckler Bred were good to sell also reaching 357p per kg (£1,463) 13 months old. Cast Cows remain good to sell with demand improving for plainer (Dairy) kinds.

New Season Lambs sold to 410p per kg for Texel Crosses from Cherrytrees Farms, Yetholm. Heavy Lambs from Bowsden Moor, Berwick upon Tweed sold to £125 and £97 from Easington Grange, Belford.

Breeding Cattle look good value practically Heifers with Calves at Foot. Store Cattle Continue to sell well for all breeds, ages and weights. Limousin Bull to £4,000 Bowsden Moor, Berwick upon Tweed.
