Bumper weekend at free festival

A bumper weekend of live music, sell-out street fair and community fun is on offer in Wooler this Saturday and Sunday at the free Glendale Festival.

The event will join forces with the new Wooler Farmers’ Market on Sunday for the first time.

The festival opens officially at noon on Saturday with a parade led by the Coldstream Pipe Band, with live bands playing from 2.30pm to 9pm.

Saturday’s event runs from noon till 4pm, in Scott’s Park, just off the A697, with plenty on offer for children and traditional sports contests.

There will also be a Duck Derby on Wooler Water with cash prizes.
