The producers of the hit television competition Britain’s Got Talent are coming to Northumberland next week.

The team is touring the North East to help find undiscovered talent – and they have chosen the home of Northumberland’s Got Talent as one of their destinations – Leading Link in Bedlington.

Northumberland’s Got Talent, which is organised by the Bedlington-based charity and has been running since 2008, has uncovered stars of the future including ‘Cat in the Hat’ Lucy Conroy, singer Chloe Wealleans-Watts and most recently 50/60s swing star Lewis Hill, who went on to win the hugely popular Northumberland Live talent competition, organised by the county council and sponsored by the Northumberland Gazette and other Northeast Press titles, back in the summer.

Now the stars of the future have the chance to wow producers of the national competition, with a place in front of music supremo Simon Cowell and his fellow Got Talent judges the prize potentially on offer.

Leading Link’s assistant manager, Jonny Hall, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase this area to producers from London and highlight exactly what Northumberland has to offer in terms of talent.

“With our organisation’s emphasis on maximising the potential of young people in this area, we are delighted that they have chosen Leading Link as one of the stops on their visit to the north east.

“The thought that one of the acts that they see when they are here could be invited to audition in-front of Simon Cowell and the other judges on the main show is a very exciting prospect.

“Who knows? We could have the next winner of Britain’s Got Talent living right under our noses.”

The Britain’s Got Talent Production Team will be visiting Leading Link in Bedlington on the evening of Monday, January 12, looking for a range of fresh talent.

All ages and types of performers are welcome, but there are an extremely limited amount of spaces available, so anyone who is interested should contact Jonny Hall on with your name, a contact telephone number and the type of act you would like to perform, as soon as possible before noon on Friday.
