The theatre company will showcase War of the Worlds at Kirknewton Village Hall on Thursday, February 15, at 7.30pm, and Shilbottle Community Hall on Saturday, February 17, at 7pm.

In the unfathomable darkness of empty space, an invisible missile starts its journey to Earth from Mars. And another. And another.

Ten missiles are fired at the unsuspecting Earth and are rushing through the empty gulf of space – 10 missiles carrying an invading force of Martians, their intellects vast, cool and unsympathetic. Hour by hour, day by day, closer and closer the Martians come, ready for war and the massacre of mankind.

This vivid and dynamic new production relocates the story to the North East of England, where a band of survivors confront a Martian invasion against the backdrop of 1898 Newcastle.

This sci-fi story charts their fortunes as they become refugees in their own country, forced to flee from an unknown and unprovoked enemy, and battle against the devastation of their planet.
