Brenda Blethyn back in Alnmouth for Vera filming

The star of the detective show, other actors and crew were in Alnmouth yesterday, filming for the eagerly-awaited ninth series of the TV whodunnit.

Despite the glorious, sunny weather, she was still sporting her trademark brown coat and green hat.

And one photographer spotted her blue Land Rover parked on a double-yellow line in the village. Luckily, there wasn’t a traffic warden around!

The village has previously played host to Vera - in 2013, a jetty was built on the beach.

And Brenda has often spoken of her love for Northumberland, saying on national television: “The generosity and the welcome we get there is quite wonderful.”
