Braving the cold for charity
Daring swimmers will brave the cold when they plunge into the North Sea next month to help vulnerable and lonely people this Christmas.
The Crisis Winter Coat Amnesty Swim will be held at Boulmer beach on Saturday, November 26, from 12.30pm.
Only hardened winter swimmers are allowed to dip, but other people are encouraged to support the event by turning up with a spare winter coat or jumper, which will be donated to homeless people during the festive season.
Boulmer Lifeboat Station will open afterwards, from about 1.30pm, for soup, a roll, tea and cake; tickets £5, in aid of Boulmer Lifeboat.
