BRAVE Brandon Ballance kicked-off his dream holiday in style with a special journey to the airport in a Rolls-Royce.
The courageous nine-year-old, from Amble, is currently on a two-week stay in America to fulfil his long-held wish of swimming with dolphins.
Little Brandon has suffered a brain tumour for most of his life having being diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous growth when he was just two.
A huge public fund-raising campaign held in his honour earlier this year collected more than £17,000 to fund the poorly youngster’s Florida holiday.
He is accompanied by mum Sarah Nicholson, his little sister Sienna, and nan Pauline.
And last Thursday, his holiday of a lifetime began with a ride to Newcastle Airport in the Rolls-Royce, courtesy of Alnwick Wedding Cars.
Jim Thompson, who is director of the company along with wife Linda, dressed as a chauffeur on the day to make the journey extra special and drove the youngster to the airport.
He said: “The whole family were excited and I think they had hardly slept. Brandon is a lovely lad and is coping with his problems very well.”
As a further treat, Brandon will be picked up from the airport in a Jaguar on his return.
Mr Thompson said he made the gesture after reading Brandon’s plight in the paper and wanted to help in some way.
