A new book by a Dunstan-based author is being launched tomorrow – and there will be a free truffle for everyone who attends.
Anne Ousby has released My friend E, which is a contemporary story set in South Africa and loosely based on the Oscar Pistorius case.
It is her fourth self-published book, but her debut short novel.
As part of the process, the 73-year-old chose the book’s front cover and it features a series of truffles.
She said: “The truffles are integral to the plot and I will be giving a free truffle to everyone who comes to my launch.
“One of the truffles will have a surprise inside and the person who has that particular truffle will win a free copy of the book.”
Anne started writing the story at a novella workshop, having been inspired by the Pistorius case.
She said that she is pleased with the piece, which tells the story of a character called Evie Adze and her reaction to the death of her sister and soul-mate Shon, who is brutally murdered by her boyfriend.
The launch takes place at Howick Village Hall at 6pm. The paperback and eBook are available on Amazon, but Anne has copies which she is happy to sign.
