Body of missing Northumberland man found
The search for a missing man ended yesterday morning after a body was found in the woods near Whittingham.
A statement released by Northumbria Police today said: ‘At around 11am on Tuesday, police officers, along with Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team, located a body of a man in the woods near Whittingham.
‘Emergency services attended, but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘The body has since been identified as that of missing man Damion Willcock, who was 49 and from Alnwick.
‘Specialist officers are supporting his family at this difficult time.’
