A MAN’s body has been recovered after being found on moorland west of Alnwick this morning.
Northumbria Police confirmed that at 7.53am a member of the public discovered the body, believed to be that of a 40-year-old local man, and officers attended the scene.
A police spokesman said: “The body was recovered and taken to a local hospital. Inquiries into the death are ongoing and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
“At this stage there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances concerning the death.”
The man’s identity has not been released.
