Body found at Bamburgh

A MAN’S body has been recovered from the sea near Bamburgh.

At around 5pm yesterday (Sunday) Seahouses lifeboat crew found the body at Black Rocks, four miles north of Bamburgh Castle and a quarter-of-a-mile out to sea.

Police, emergency services and RAF Boulmer were called to the scene and there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances relating to his death.

Inquiries into the man’s identity are being made. He is described as white, with short dark hair, in his mid-to-late 40s and around 5ft 9in tall. He was of slim build and wearing a pink-striped shirt and black trousers.
