Bluebells in bloom for walk
A fund-raising walk, which offers a rare opportunity to visit Ratcheugh Crag and Observatory while enjoying a stunning display as the bluebells come into full bloom, is taking place this month.
From the Observatory, made available by kind permission of the Duke of Northumberland and not normally open to the public, you can take in spectacular views.
The leisurely circular stroll on Sunday, May 22, from 10am to 1pm, takes around an hour, finishing at the Observatory for homemade refreshments. Dogs on leads are welcome and there will be a quiz for youngsters.
The walk, which supports the NSPCC, starts from Dunsheugh (NE66 3AD), signposted from Longhoughton Road at the Peppermoor crossroads and from the Lesbury Road at the Hawkhill crossroads. Car parking available.
