Green-fingered residents have been honoured in Amble’s Annual Garden Awards for their bloomin’ good work.
Gardens were judged in the town’s three wards in July by Trevor Jones, from The Alnwick Garden, who was accompanied by a councillor from each of the wards. Allotments were judged by Coun Les Bilboe.
The shortlist of gardens, nominated by members of the public and ward councillors, produced a larger number than in previous years. The judges were impressed by the standard. A virtual garden award was also added this year and yielded some wonderful photos.
The award ceremony was held last month and was well attended and certificates and prizes were handed out.
