RESIDENTS of north Northumberland are being warned about scam letters once again.
Northumberland County Council Trading Standards wants consumers to be wary of scam letters that tempt them into providing personal information with the draw of receiving big money.
The letters are sent from around the world and request that the recipient responds and registers their interest in receiving millions of dollars. One such letter recently offered seventeen-and-a-half million US dollars.
The writers generally claim to be from a professional background, claiming links with banks, the Government, the mining or petroleum industry, or similar bodies.
