Berwick MP Anne-Marie Trevelyan has paid a visit to Rothbury House - the RAF Association residential home situated on the edge of the village.
Rothbury House provides welfare breaks and convalescent care to the extended RAF family and other services. It can accommodate up to 34 guests in 20 guest rooms, nine of which are registered as care beds with the Care Quality Commission.
A number of rooms have specialist equipment for guests with mobility issues. The House was opened by Princess Margaret in November 1996.
Mrs Trevelyan was shown round by the manager, Colin Lee, and was impressed with the facilities that are on offer to residents.
"This is a wonderful facility which RAFA runs here for the benefit of the RAF family and other services," she said. "I was privileged to meet and chat to some residents who were very happy with the facilities on offer. My visit reconfirms to me what an incredible place we are fortunate to live in and how wonderful it is to be able to share it with visitors."
