Berwick MP speaks at Women for Britain launch

The cross-party group aims to strive for inclusivity and positive thinking in the referendum debate, campaigning to leave the EU as 'Britain is capable of far more than we are currently allowed to achieve'. The launch was attended by Employment Minister Priti Patel, the keynote speaker, other MPs and businesswomen.

Mrs Trevelyan said: "The referendum campaign has been dominated by men’s voices. Women are more likely to be undecided and are keen to hear the facts from both sides without the negative rhetoric. It is so important that womens’ voices are heard – they will decide the result of this referendum.

"Today is International Women's Day and as we celebrate the incredible women in our history who have fought for a better deal and improved rights for women, such as Emmeline Pankhurst, we remember how it was women who demanded the vote so they could take control of their own futures. This referendum is no different. We need to take control of our country so we can shape its future."
