An Alnwick barmaid has said she has memories to cherish after taking part in her first beauty pageant.
Hannah Mackay was a finalist in last Thursday’s Miss North-East GB competition.
The 18-year-old was in the running to win the Miss Newcastle GB crown.
Other categories within the regional contest were Miss Sunderland GB, Miss Teesside GB and Miss Durham GB.
While Hannah, who works at The Plough, did not take the title, she admits that the occasion was truly memorable. She said: “I had an amazing day meeting all the girlies and getting all glamorous backstage for the final. Unfortunately I didn’t place, but I had such an amazing time and an enjoyable experience that I will always remember.”
Hannah has been raising money for Global’s Make Some Noise, which was the event’s official charity.
The winner of Miss Newcastle GB was Melissa Crawford.
