Kay Harding officially launched Beauty Queen, at 36 Queen Street, last month.

It is a new chapter for the 24-year-old, who ran her former business, The Beauty Lounge, out of the town’s Destiny Hair.

She has moved into her own premises due to demand and the fully-qualified beautician is excited about what the future holds.

Kay, from Amble, said: “It has been really busy since opening and it is going really well.

“About 80 people came to the launch evening in the middle of February. It was a mix of new and old clients and I was really overwhelmed by the support.”

Explaining the reason for the move, Kay said: “It was getting so busy and I had a little room at Destiny, so I decided that I needed more space to expand and do more treatments and then maybe take someone else on in the future.”

Kay is offering a range of beauty treatments, such as semi-permanent eyelash extensions; HD brows; acrylic nails; Moroccan spray tans; facials; Swedish massage; luxury manicures and pedicures; and tinting and waxing.

Clients are urged to look out for special offers, while gift vouchers are available.

Kay also has Georgia Dodds coming in to do hair extensions.

Having moved into her own premises, Kay is delighted with how things are progressing in her career.

She said: “I went self-employed after I did my training and I just went for it to see if it would work and I am pleased with how things are going.”
