BIGGER and better than previous years, Rothbury Highland Pipe Band wowed the crowds on their fourth world tour of Coquetdale.
Accompanied by the Glasgow and Neilston and the City of Newcastle Pipe Bands, with others, they played at various locations in the area as a thank you to the people of Coquetdale and surrounding area for the their support.
The title World Tour started as a bit of a joke, but has now stuck and creates quite a bit of interest, so much so that the bus was so full that a separate van had to be used to transport all the bands equipment.
An old London Routemaster was provided by the Chainbridge Honey Farm for the event.
The day started in Rothbury outside the Newcastle House Hotel, then proceeded to Netherton followed by Alwinton for lunch with some additional musical entertainment by the travelling supporters on accordian, flute and fiddle in the Rose and Thistle, before travelling down to Harbottle, then Thropton before arriving back in Rothbury for supper.
