A Bamburgh holiday park, which was on the market for £5.5million, has been bought by Maguires Country Parks.
The Kaims already has 240 pitches but the new owner is planning to start work soon on an expansion to add 48 new luxury caravan pitches.
Maguires operates five caravan sites across the region, including the award-winning Ord House Country Park near Berwick and Forget Me Not Country Park at Longhorsley.
Billy Maguire, owner of Maguires Country Parks said: “The Kaims, Bamburgh site is a fantastic opportunity for our luxury holiday park brand. The site’s location and surroundings are perfectly suited to help us deliver our aim of providing beautiful, peaceful and relaxing country parks in first class destinations.
“We have already allocated in excess of £1.25million of capital expenditure in order to develop new pitches, improve service infrastructure and to enhance the park for new and all existing caravan owners.”
The 43-acre park was sold by property consultancy Sanderson Weatherall.
Adam Burkinshaw, specialist agent at Sanderson Weatherall said: “We are delighted to have sold this fantastic site to Maguires Country Parks.
“It will undoubtedly be a fantastic addition to their existing portfolio of country parks.”
Maguires, a family-run firm, also operates holiday parks near Durham, Darlington and in North Yorkshire.
