The winning badges have now been made up and will be handed out to all youngsters who visit the State Rooms at the Castle this year.

According to the judges, it was extremely difficult to make a choice so after much deliberation they decided on four winners.

The winning entries were by Jack Lee Dugdale, from Wallsend; Oscar Chisholm, from Glanton; four-year-old Daniel Thompson, from Darlington; and Lizzie Cavanagh, from Blackpool.
