Award-winning folk duo at village venue

An award-winning folk music group will be performing in a north Northumberland village this weekend.

Three times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and double winners of the Spiral Earth Awards,Megson draw heavily on their Teesside heritage to create a truly unique brand of folk music.

They will play at Etal Village Hall on Saturday.

The husband and wife duo bring an infectious mix of heavenly vocals, lush harmonies and driving rhythmic guitars.

Comprising Debs Hanna (vocals, whistle, piano accordion) and Stu Hanna (guitar, mandola, banjo), Megson have gained fame onthe British folk scene, not only for their arresting and intelligent songwriting, but fortheir exquisite musicianship and northern humour. As Froots Magazine puts it ‘if you don’t like the music here then you have a problem’ .

The duo have a new album in the pipeline which is set to be released at the end of May.

Good Times Will Come Again is the first ever to contain all Megson original songs and has been two years in the making.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the music starts at 8pm. Please book your tickets in advance.
