Assault appeal

A MAN was left with serious testicular injuries after being attacked as he made his way home after a night out in Wooler.

The unprovoked assault by two men happened in the early hours of Sunday, December 11, between 1am and 1.30am in the Ramseys Lane area of the town.

The 41 year-old victim, who lives at Golden Square and has walking difficulties, was taken by ambulance to Wansbeck General Hospital and detained for further treatment.

Inspector Sharon Wilmore-Greaves said: “This was a particularly nasty assault and we would appeal for anyone with information to come forward, especially the anonymous caller who reported the incident.”
