Alnwick Town Council’s grant-funding scheme is now open for applications.
The authority is encouraging local voluntary and community organisations which are based in or predominantly serve Alnwick and require financial assistance for 2018 to complete and return an application form by Friday, December 1.
Mayor Alan Symmonds said: “The town council is pleased that they have been able to increase its grants budget and has £16,000 to distribute to local organisations.
“Each year, we are able to help some of our local organisations and groups which provide very valuable services to the town and are in need of financial support.
“We are always pleased to received applications from groups who have not applied for a grant from the town council before.”
The grant criteria and application forms are available to download on the council website – www.alnwick-tc.gov.uk/grants – by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01665 602574.
Last year, the town council received 26 applications, including nine from organisations which hadn’t applied before, and handed out £11,100.
In addition to these grants, the town council also gives contributions to event organisations in the town, such as the Christmas lights, which totalled £12,500 in 2016/17.
