Applications open for tourism awards

Tourism businesses are being encouraged to enter the North East England Tourism Awards, after applications opened last week.

Winners at the Awards have the opportunity to represent the North East and compete on a national stage at VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence.

The North East Awards are free to enter and submissions close on September 4, with the ceremony in Newcastle in November.

The categories are: Hotel of the Year; Boutique Guest Accommodation; B&B; Self-Catering Holiday Provider; Holiday Park/Holiday Village; Small Visitor Attraction; Large Visitor Attraction; Guided Tour; Dog Friendly Business; Tourism Pub; Taste of England Award; Sustainable Tourism Award; Inclusive Tourism Award; Business Tourism Award; and Visitor Information Provider.
