A controversial application for a holiday complex on the coast at Amble has disappeared from the council’s planning system because of an error.

Following a report in the Gazette, it has been pointed out that the scheme, for a three-storey building containing one private dwelling house and three duplex holiday lets on the site of the former Signal Cottage, is no longer on the county council’s public access system.

A council spokeswoman said: “The application has been made invalid on the system as there is a technical detail in the documentation which needs to be corrected.”

Meanwhile, members of the council’s planning committee have agreed to go on a site visit ahead of decisions on separate outline bids for three and 10 executive homes in the grounds of Linden Hall.
