Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a missing Northumberland man.

Arthur Smith, 80, was reported missing on Thursday, January 15, after failing to return to his home at Bob Elliott House, Wright Street, Blyth. He also goes by the name of Peter Todd and was last seen by staff at the residential premises on Wednesday, January 14.

The police are concerned for his welfare and are keen to hear that he is safe and well. He is described as white, 5ft tall, clean-shaven, wears glasses, walks with a pronounced limp and was last seen wearing a suit. He has links to the Darlington and Middlesborough area.

Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Robson said: “We’re keen for Mr Smith to get in touch so we can be reassured he is okay. We’re carrying out searches to find him and would urge anyone who may know of his whereabouts to contact us.”
