For the second time in five days, Coastguards have been called out to rescue people cut off by the tide on Holy Island causeway.

A post on HM Coastguard Holy Island's Facebook page earlier this evening states: 'The team were tasked this afternoon by HMCG Humber Coastguard Station to a vehicle cut off by the tide on Holy Island causeway.'

Today's incident follows a call-out on Tuesday, when two people were cut off by the rising waters on the causeway, almost two hours after the safe-crossing time.
