Another 12 properties in the pipeline

A detailed application for a 12-property scheme in a Northumberland village which has seen plenty of bids for new housing in recent times has been submitted to the local authority.

An outline scheme for a residential development of approximately 12 dwellings, on land east of Normandy Terrace and off East Road, in Longhorsley, was lodged in December 2012 and approved in March 2013.

The reserved matters bid which has now been submitted to Northumberland County Council reveals that the proposed scheme now features nine homes.

Eight of these are three-bedroom, semi-detached properties and the other is a detached, four-bedroom home.

However, in terms of the design, the three-bedroom properties are split into two house types.

A new footpath and the associated street lighting will be built along East Road to connect to the existing footpath, subject to approval by the county council. This was part of the section 106 legal agreement attached to the outline approval.

Last June, an outline proposal by Partner Investments Ltd for up to 55 dwellings on land south-east of the Shoulder of Mutton pub was given the go-ahead, as was a full application by Alnwick-based Cussins Ltd for 25 homes on a site north of Reivers Gate.

An outline bid for up to five homes, for land west of Church View, Badgers Ford, was turned down last October.
