Amble RNLI crews called to help stricken vessel

Amble RNLI volunteers launched the all-weather lifeboat and inshore lifeboat to assist a pleasure boat that reported to having engine failure two miles south-east of Amble harbour.

The launch was requested by HM Coastguard at 10.56am on Saturday after a local pleasure boat reported having mechanical problems.

Both lifeboats arrived quickly on scene and assessed the situation. All people on board the stricken vessel were found to be safe and well.

A tow line was swiftly established by the lifeboat volunteers and the boat was taken undertow back to the safety of Amble harbour for repairs.
