Alnwick school record breakers

HARD-WORKING students at Alnwick’s high school have produced a record-breaking set of GCSE results.

This morning saw the best set of results in the Duchess’s Community High School’s history with over 20 per cent of all entries awarded A or A* grades.

And the school also saw 23 per cent of students gain five or more A or A* grades and 63 per cent gain five or more A* to C grades, including English and maths.

Headteacher Maurice Hall said: “We are extremely proud of this year group. They have worked hard and achieved wonderful results.”

Full results to come.
