Places for the popular Northumberland Coastal Run were snapped up within 11 hours of going on sale this morning.
Runners had to be quick off the mark in the dash to line up for Alnwick Harriers’ approximately 14-mile race from Beadnell to Alnmouth on Sunday, July 19.
The 1,260 places went up for grabs at one minute past midnight and were sold out by 11am.
Racers had gone under starter’s orders last week when the date of the Coastal Run, which is once again sponsored by Eclipse Translations, was announced.
The race was voted Best Race in Britain in 2007 by the world’s best-selling running magazine, Runners World UK. The scenic course takes participants along the beach to Low Newton past Dunstanburgh Castle to Craster, onto Boulmer and ending on the beach at Alnmouth.
