Alnwick Flower Club met at the Costello Centre for a most enjoyable evening.

Chairman Val Pattinson welcomed everyone to the first meeting of the year and paid tribute to Josie Kent, a past chairman of the club who has recently passed away.

She welcomed Christine Ogle, of Morpeth, a firm favourite of the club, who carried out her demonstration entitled A Touch of Glass.

Using several vintage glass cake stands and other glass containers, she gave us five lovely arrangements and demonstrated a hand-tied bunch of tulips, no easy matter when eight or nine bunches of tulips are used.

Christine was thanked by Dorothy Leather and light refreshments followed.

Our demonstrator next month, March 5 at 7pm, is Pam Alexander demonstrating Nature Naturally. Visitors and new members most welcome.
