The September meeting of Alnwick Embroiderers’ Guild was the AGM.
There was some change to the committee as Vivien Boulton stood down as chairman after a very successful three years in office. She is succeeded by Kate Allport. Pat Bardsley took over as secretary from Jacqui Harle and Joy Massey became treasurer instead of Karen Clough.
Details of the full committee can be found in the new programme which should be available at the October meeting.
Thanks must be given to the outgoing committee for all their hard work.
It was the first meeting of the new season and a range of talks and workshops have been arranged for the forthcoming year.
On October 6, Rose Stanley will present a talk entitled Creating Character Figures.
Rose makes wonderful figures from fabric some of which were on display at Bailiffgate Museum when it featured a textile exhibition, It Happens. Rose has also exhibited her work in galleries in different parts of Northumberland.
The meeting will take place at St Michael’s Church Hall at 2pm. Visitors are very welcome.
