Members of Alnwick branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild are celebrating their enjoyment of stitching and sharing their love of textiles with the public today.
They are meeting at Alnwick Playhouse from 10am to 1pm.
Members will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate techniques and explain what happens at branch meetings so visitors are very welcome.
This is part of the National Celebration of Stitch and is one of various events arranged around the country in a range of venues, from historic houses to village halls, shopping centres to parks.
The Embroiderers’ Guild is a charity, which among its other aims is to promote and encourage the art of embroidery and other related textile art and crafts. It has over 9,000 members, 195 branches and 55 Young Embroiderers Groups.
