Alnmouth bounced back from last week’s disappointing loss and made the bestb possible start, with Danny Donohoe heading in a corner after only three minutes.

The visitors continued to press and, but for some poor finishing, could have been five goals to the good before the break.

However, it was the home side who levelled before the break through Paddy Finnerty, who struck the ball into the top corner from 25 yards.

Prudhoe made a strong start to the second half and were duly rewarded when Graham Bell nodded in at the back post.

That was a wake-up call for Alnmouth, and after making three substitutions, those fresh legs paid dividends.

Danny Donohoe broke in from the left and drove low and hard into the far corner for 2-2 .

Jon Graham then tapped in for 3-2 from a corner, andwith five minutes to play Ryan Taylor chested the ball into the net for 4-2 from a Judd Donohoe pass.

Not content with being a provider, Donohoe junior still had time to get in on the act properly, and after beating the charging keeper, he placed the ball, unchallenged, into the open net to complete the scoring at 5-2.

Alnmouth’s match sponsor was Sturton Grange Developments.
