The group will meet on Sunday at 10am. Take the second turning on the left off the A1068 after the roundabout at Hipsburn – a footpath with fingerpost. Ordnance Survey map reference NU246095 or sat-nav postcode NE66 3QF.

Lisa Bellamy, of Alnwick Friends of the Earth, said: “We do a beach clean at least once a year and they always attract a lot of our supporters. This year we have a great opportunity to work alongside National Trust rangers who do some brilliant work in protecting our local environment.”

Everyone is welcome – all equipment will be provided – and the session will end with a picnic on the beach, so take your flask and sandwiches.
